The Crabyon is a recently developed fiber by the Japanese company Omikenshi.
The process is based on the grinding of crustaceans’ shells coming from the alimentary industry and mixing them with cellulose, without using any solvent. This method makes available the Chitin and Chitosan, these substances have plenty of hygienic-sanitary properties, whose bio-compatibilities have been scientifically verified for their use in medical and pharmaceutical sectors. We’re talking about a flexible fiber which is not just antibacterial and antimicrobial, but it’s also biodegradable, hypoallergenic, ecologic and biocompatible.
It is good to underline that the antibacterial and antimicrobial features of the fiber are unaltered and permanent during times even when they keep being washed.
Crabyon also has a powerful absorbing property and it’s capable of keeping away humidity from the skin and prevents dehydration. This property is higher than any other fiber and it’s also capable of keeping aways smells for a long time. Crabyon prevents skin irritations and it’s a comfortable fiber even for the most delicate skins, such as kids’ and elders’ and it’s also used in hospitals. This is why this fiber is perfect for realizing any kind of garment who has to stay directly in contact with the skins, underwear included, it can also be used at home and for medical purposes, for example to create socks for people suffering for diabetes.
