WASHING NATURAL FABRICS

Soaps

Garments realized with natural yarns are precious goods, and, like a second skin, they are capable of letting our organism breathe. We do not recommend industrial detergents to wash such fabrics as these detergents contain chemical enzymes which are born to destroy organic stains and therefore they attack the fibers too leaving holes or even more stains. We suggest you to wash the clothes in warm water with Maresille soap or gentle detergents, let them soak in it and after that use cold water to rinse them with an add of few drops of white vinegar, this is the best way to let the natural fabrics last longer. Using ancient and efficient methods like white vinegar or citric acid diluted in a generous amount of water is the best alternative to industrial detergents that will damage not only the cloth itself, but the environment and the people as well.

CLOTHES IN BAST AND MIXED FIBERS

CAPI IN FIBRE LIBERIANE E MISTE

Wash the clothes in low-medium temperatures, depending on the dirt on the cloth, let them soak for a few minutes and rinse them accurately with more water at the same temperature. In the washing machine, use light spins to not create folds on the cloth. Always dry your clothes away from direct light and the sun. Knitted clothing such as pull overs or similar have to be laid flat to avoid deforming them. The use of neutral soaps such as Marseille’s, white vinegar, citric acid, and so, will help to preserve your clothes and the environment. It’s good to know that clothing realized with natural fabrics is capable to get rid off bad smells regenerating and refreshing themselves when exposed to the air during the night.

WOOL AND WOOL MIXED CLOTHES

It’s good to know that most of the times the reason why wool products start felting is because of friction and rubbing of the material when you’re washing it way too much. Exposing these clothes to fresh air will be enough to keep them clean. If you want to wash them you can use warm water and using delicate detergents. Push gently with your hands and not rubbing the cloth. Let them soak for a few minutes and then rinse with water with the same temperature and adding a spoon of white vinegar to keep the wool soft and to keep the colors bright. After rinsing them, remove the water in excess avoiding to squeeze it, then put it in a sponge towel and gently push to absorb the water. Lay it flat to avoid deforming it and keep it away from heat sources and the sun.
