We personally support companies and designers at every stage of the technical project: from fibre selection to spinning, weaving and dyeing through to the finished product so that the end result reflects their needs

Customised yarns: With an extensive portfolio of natural fibres, Maeko is able to custom-create high-quality, ethical yarns of preferential Italian origin. We try to source our fibres predominantly in Italy and Europe. When this is not possible, we choose suppliers who can offer us guarantees on the manufacturing process and the fair and sustainable treatment of employees, because transparency is one of our core values.
Hemp, nettle, soya, crabyon, bamboo, linen, organic cotton, certified silk and burettes, milk fibre, yak wool, Italian sheep, alpaca and goat wool, pineapple and lotus: these are currently our natural fibres with which we can create blends or spin them pure. “Mauro sits down with you to choose the materials. Working four-handedly, we blend fibres from our portfolio or supplied by you to create an exclusive, high-performance yarn. We start with small quantities (from 20 kg), so that artisans of all sizes can make unique, quality creations according to their needs,” says Cinzia.

The art of weaving fabric: Maeko involves realities of excellence to weave noble and unique fibres, combining high quality with ethics.
Interweaving the warp threads with the weft thread results in a wide range of shuttle fabrics, on looms that ensure the right balance between weaving time and thread tension, thus favouring an excellent process for fabric production, especially for high quality hemp. We also produce jersey fabrics with circular looms for knitted fabric production. Our weaving processes respect and value human and natural capital.

Space for colour: We dye in compliance with R.E.A.C.H. regulations and use GOTS-certified dyes on request. We carry out cold 30° dyeing with an environmentally friendly maltinto effect. Our dyeing services enable us to process unbleached fabrics, ready-dyed fabrics, knitted or jersey fabrics, woven fabrics and yarns. We can dye zips, trimmings, lace and ready-dyed fabrics. We dye from 10 metres up to productions of all sizes and, if required, even a single garment at a time.
