The Habutai Silk is a fabric usually used to realize footwear and foulards for his softness and slipperiness. It’s built with thin yarns with a continued fiber, also known as “boiled silk”, originally woven in Japan, where the “Habutai” name come from.
It’s extraordinarily soft to the touch and has a “peach hand” effect that’s granted by a particular finishing; in comparison to other Silks and Muslins or the Crepe de Chine, this fabric is smoother and slippery but less durable.
This fabric isn’t just useful to create the usual footwear, foulards, and sarong, thanks to his shiny features, the Habutai is also great for many women cloths: blouses, dresses, trousers, but also for unisex shirts. It can also be used to create elegant underwear and pajamas.
