We are happy to have participated in the final episode of the programme "Slow Padano Tour" with Patrizio Roversi aired on Rete 4 on Saturday 4 December 2021.
You can find us at the chapter: A thicket of hemp
This episode concluded the second series of Slow Tour Padano: a journey to understand how the good things we eat are made and who makes them, the link between agriculture and landscape, between tradition and innovation. A final example of traditions to be recovered as a prospect for the future: the cultivation of sativa hemp for industrial use with a low T.H.C. content. A plant with great agronomic properties capable of reclaiming the land on which it grows, from which food, textiles, paper, bio-lime, even car bodies are made! Until the 1950s, Italy was the world's second largest producer of it, drowned by the American synthetic fibre business. There are those who are trying to bring it back, Andrea Cocca with his family's farm and Canabeerinto and the natural yarn company Maeko with the Rifloc project.
