Waste disposal as we know is a problem that plagues our planet and the clothing sector is considered to be among the most polluting, just think that every year millions of clothes are thrown away and end up in our landfills. Garments made from synthetic fibres, as opposed to natural fibres such as nylon or polyester, behave exactly like plastic: they do not decompose, they are not 'reabsorbed' by our planet.<\/p>\n

Some garments that need certain technical characteristics, such as swimwear, are almost exclusively made of nylon or polyester.
Nylon garments withstand high tensile loads, need no special care, do not wrinkle, are easy to wash, do not fade, dry quickly and keep their good looks for a long time (precisely because they do not decompose). They are also extremely light and resist the attack of fungi and bacteria.<\/p>\n

A biodegradable polyamide yarn has recently been patented by the Rhodia-Solvay group: it is called Amni\u00ae Soul Eco. This particular yarn makes it possible to produce garments that quickly decompose when they are discarded and taken to landfill. Garments made from Amni\u00ae Soul Eco decompose in about 5 years.
Biodegradability is accelerated by the special composition that facilitates access and digestion of the waste material by bacteria under anaerobic landfill conditions. The decomposition of Amni Soul Eco\u00ae gives rise to organic matter (biomass) and biogas, which can be exploited as new resources for the environment and for electricity cogeneration.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, Amni Soul Eco\u00ae meets the main market requirements in terms of softness, comfort, dye quality, breathability and
