The spontaneous shedding of yak hair results in a fine cashmere-like fabric that is not treated with artificial dyes, thanks to its natural shades.
The yak, better known as the Tibetan ox, is a large mammal that lives in the highlands of Central Asia, specifically in Tibet and Mongolia. Its peculiarity is that it is covered with thick fur in shades between dark and light brown that is naturally lost by the animal when spring arrives.
